Our commitment | Our certifications

Several voluntary certification programs exist in forestry in the world and in North America. Given our multiple sources of supply, we adhere to the programs that allow us to cover the diversity of North American forest types and ecosystems.

  • Forest Stewardship Council
  • Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)
Under the umbrella of FSC International and constituted in 1998, FSC Canada develops regional standards, based on the principles and criteria of sustainable forest management. This is a non-profit organization managed by a board of directors representing balanced interests.
  • Sustainable Forestry Initiative
  • Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI®Inc.)
Created in 1994, SFI is a non-profit organization managed by an independent board of directors representing balanced interests. SFI’s original guidelines constituted the basis of a standard laying down the complete procedure for audit and certification by a third party. The SFI standard is implemented throughout North America. It is based on nine sustainable forestry principles and thirteen objectives, including tree growth and harvesting, and a variety of conservation objectives.
  • Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification
  • Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC)
Created in 1999, the PEFC Council is an independent international, non-profit and non-governmental organization, which promotes certification of sustainable forest management according to internationally accepted sustainable forest management criteria.
